Our Story
Truss Components of Washington was founded in 1992 by longtime friends Fred Prosser and Charlie Buekelman, who saw a growing need for locally manufactured building components in the South Sound.
What began as a roof truss manufacturer on a three-acre property has grown from a small operation using manually set equipment into a modern component manufacturing facility producing roof trusses, floor trusses, and prefabricated wall panels.
More than three decades later, TCOW still operates from the same location and continues to invest in its people, technology, and capabilities to better serve builders throughout Western Washington.
1996 - Modernizing Production
TCOW begins investing in newer manufacturing technology, adding its first modern gantry-style truss production system.
2008 - Floor Trusses
Floor trusses are added to TCOW's product offering, beginning the company's expansion beyond roof trusses.
2021 - Wall Panels
TCOW adds prefabricated wall panels in 2021, followed by a dedicated wall panel production line in 2023 and additional equipment in 2025. Today, TCOW can provide builders with a nearly complete prefabricated framing system—from the floor, to the walls, to the roof.
1992 - It All Started
Fred Prosser and Charlie Buekelman found Truss Components of Washington. TCOW begins manufacturing roof trusses from its original three-acre property.
2000 - Growing Our Facility
TCOW purchases an additional two-acre property across the street, creating room for expanded production, storage, and a new office.
2016 - The New Generation
Major investments in automated cutting, laser projection, and automated jigging significantly increase TCOW's production capabilities and efficiency.
